MVI Data Recovery No Data No Fee

Fire, water, shock or disarray – bring it to our clean room. Let us repair your drive or retrieve your data, and if we can’t, it’s free.

Physical Data Recovery

Storage media can suffer physical damage in a variety of ways. A compact disc can shed one of its metallic substrate layers, hard drive disks can fail mechanically, or heads and motors can crash. Occasionally the system's file structures can be disarrayed – necessitating logical recovery before the system is treated physically. In a case of material damage, a technical engineer will delicately retrieve lost data through physical intervention. Bizarre computer data recovery tactics, including freezing disk drives or spinning them rapidly on the ground to unstick a jammed platter, can seriously jeopardise the data retrieval process.

Common symptoms of physical damage include:
•    Program utilities become notably slower
•    Programs crash or behave strangely
•    Clicking noises occur when rebooting

Recovering data from physically damaged hardware can involve simply swapping parts. For example, exchanging the original read/write head assembly with matching parts from a healthy drive can make the drive usable. Once the disk is accessible, a specialised disk imaging procedure can recover every readable bit from the surface. Newer hard drives on the market can withstand a knock or shock of about 300Gs. Disk recovery is more complex depending on the state of the drive's platters after a static shock.

MVI Data Recovery uses a Class 100 certified clean room facility to protect exposed operating systems from dust contamination. Raw images are then extracted and utilised in the reconstruction of usable data. Inevitably, some files can be lost as a result of physical damage.

Even if your device "went up in smoke" - switch it off and send it to us for a free physical data recovery evaluation and costing, with no obligations attached.
