Maxtor Data Recovery


Maxtor (formerly Quantum) produce relatively fast and inexpensive disks, although with quite a few problems. With time, the motor noise increases, the disks tend to develop surface defects, and the system increasingly develops detection failures. It's not recommended to use these disks for storing critical information, and any stored data should be regularly backed up.

While in most cases repair works on Maxtor drives are attempted for the sole purpose of data recovery, the repaired hard disk can be operational for a long time. There is an exception to this in the form of the Maxtor slim line models, which can fall prey to failure and loss of BIOS recognition within a period of three weeks. We recommend the replacement of Maxtor drives and firmware after the data recovery and fix, which should be replaced by a reliable brand, such as Seagate or Samsung.
