IBM Data Recovery

IBM Models:

Deskstar, Ultrastar, Travelstar, Allicat, Microdrive, Excelstor

IBM/Hitachi drives are fast and strong hard drives, but not very reliable, especially the glass plate models (DTLA and AVER series). At MVI Data Recovery, we endeavour to stay informed about research and development in IBM technology, so that your disaster recovery from IBM system disk crashes is thorough and professional.

If at startup the IBM disk is not detected or detection is slow, then repair time has certainly come. These disks are highly serviceable, and if treated properly and early enough, can stay operating reliably for a long time in the future. MVI Data Recovery is equipped to pursue rescue & repair recovery operations for IBM laptops (ThinkVantage and ThinkPad models) and well as desktops (for example, ThinkCentre desktops).

Exceptions are when the disks repeatedly emit a squeaking noise, which is a sign of severe physical or mechanical failure to the magnetic surface. Data could still undergo IBM rescue and recovery via password, but it becomes quite complicated where the magnetic surface has been destroyed. This makes IBM-stored data more time consuming and problematic to restore. Isolated batches (assembled in Hungary and Romania) with numerous identical faults have been noted. IBM has discontinued these HDDs.
